Latitudes: Window

Sela Vai was commissioned by the Powerhouse Museum in collaboration with Versus, to create this film that now features on Nowness.

Her original choreography sees dancers interacting with the architecture and infrastructure of Western Sydney, and the intersection between dance culture and sports culture that courses through it. Highlighting the nuances of a district in a state of transformation – akin to the perspectives born from it – Window creates a lyrical and visual dialogue that questions the means of control forced upon us, and how these can, conversely, serve as a significant escape route when overturned.
